Hosting international students is a great opportunity.
Your basic responsibility is to welcome the student as a member of your family and to provide the same care and support you would give to your own children. We ask that you provide a bed and two to three meals a day. Students assume the normal responsibilities as a member of your family and are expected to undertake the same simple chores you would expect your own children to do.
We work with partner organisations around the world with which we have long standing relationships. Every new student is interviewed, their medical and academic records are checked and references are always required. Students are usually aged between 15 and 25 years old and their natural parents must have the financial means to support them while on exchange. Each student comes with a passport and return ticket plus money to cover personal expenses and school costs.
HOW IT WORKS?
MEET NEW PEOPLE
SayStay works hard to match students and families based on their interests and lifestyle. We have students from all over the world and we recruit all different types of host families (couple with kids, couples, single parents, single people) so we are sure to find you a good match.
MAKE EXTRA MONEY
Who doesn’t need some extra money to help with expenses? In return for your hospitality, you’ll be paid a weekly amount for hosting a student. Each year Australia hosts more than 400,000 international students. There is always demand for accommodation!
Hosting international students allows you to exchange experiences, learn about other cultures and share your Australian way of life. This is a great opportunity to have a better understanding of today’s connected world and meet people from different paths of life.
We are looking for families that have a genuine interest in other cultures and nationalities, and also like to welcome the students into their homes as a 'new' member of their family. If you would like to be a Host Family for international students, you will need to become an Approved Host.
Will this be difficult? Not at all! Apply today!
